Shortly after 5 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 3, members of the Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department got quite a shock when they heard fire alarms sounding, but they didn't have to go far to battle the blaze.
Officials say that the Pratt Street station in Upper Marlboro suffered damage from the fire, though there were no reported injuries.
The scope of the damage was not clear on Sunday afternoon. Eight firefighters were in the station at the time the smoke alarms went off.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
